For wholesale and distribution

The order book, the stock and the overdue invoices, finally on the same page.

For wholesalers and distributors shipping to trade customers. Order book, pick accuracy, days of cover by warehouse and who owes you what, with alerts before a big customer runs late.

Wholesale runs on thin margins and long lists. A few hundred trade customers, a few thousand product lines, two warehouses and a credit controller who spends Friday afternoon chasing invoices. The information exists in the stock system, the accounts and the courier portal. What does not exist is one view where the operations lead and the finance lead look at the same number.

Halvard gives them that view. The revenue dashboard shows the order book by customer and margin after delivery cost, so the account that looks biggest is not quietly the least profitable. The orders dashboard shows pick accuracy and on-time delivery by courier. The ops dashboard shows days of cover per product per warehouse, calculated from the last eight weeks of sales rather than a reorder level someone set years ago.

Why wholesalers choose Business

  • Per-site views. Each warehouse gets its own dashboard and its own alerts, and the directors get the roll-up.
  • Your own database. If your order system keeps its data in a database, Halvard can query a read-only copy on a schedule, without an export.
  • Five years of history. Seasonal trade needs last year and the year before to plan the next one.
  • Single sign-on and an audit log. Who changed a metric definition, and when, is recorded.

Typical setup

A distributor with two warehouses, around 900 trade accounts and 6,000 order lines a week sends about 1.4 million events a month — inside the Business plan’s 2 million, at £149 a month for up to 50 people. We set up the first dashboard with you on a call.

The tools most of them connect

All integrations

Accounting software

Money · Team and up

Costs, invoices and VAT from your books, so margin is worked out on what you actually paid.

Courier and shipping tools

Operations · Team and up

Labels printed, parcels collected and delivered, and the ones that went missing, per courier.

Spreadsheets

Data · Free and up

For the numbers that live in a sheet: staff hours, targets, market-stall takings. Halvard reads a named range every hour.

Stock and inventory systems

Operations · Team and up

Stock on hand by location, purchase orders and days of cover, with low-stock alerts set from your own sales rate.

Data warehouses and databases

Data · Business

Read-only queries against your own database or warehouse, on a schedule, never against your live primary.

Webhooks and API

Data · Team and up

Send any event from any system with one HTTPS call. If it can post JSON, Halvard can count it.
